PSW Principal Reese Rowland,FAIA is a recipient of the 2017 Governor’s Arts Awards – Individual Artist Award sponsored by the Arkansas Arts Council. The annual awards program recognizes individuals and corporations for their outstanding contributions to the arts in Arkansas. Reese is being honored with the “Individual Artist Award – an artist active in the field of architecture, contemporary crafts, design, film, literature, performing arts or visual arts who has made significant contributions to his/her art form.”
Reese Rowland is an architect and principal with Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects in Little Rock. He has designed some of Arkansas’s most recognized buildings, including Acxiom’s River Market Tower Headquarters, The Bank of the Ozarks Headquarters and the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce. His innovative and sustainable designs have received more than 60 national, regional and state awards in the past 15 years. He is one of just roughly 3,000 architects nationally who has been elected to the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows. His Heifer International World Headquarters design received the nation’s highest honor for architecture, the 2008 AIA National Institute Honor Award. His Arkansas Studies Institute design received one of five 2011 National AIA/ALA (American Library Association) Awards of Excellence, which biennially honors the best library architecture worldwide. In 2015, his Hillary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library design won the same award, one of just six projects. His designs have been published in 25 national and international periodicals, as well as 13 books
