UA Fred W. Smith Football Center

Fayetteville, AR

The new Arkansas Football Operations Center is designed to enhance and improve the recruiting piece of the football program, consolidate all of the day to day operations into one cohesive facility and to create a new game-day experience for fans and recruits.

The Football Operations Center combines all of the program’s day to day operations and locates them in a highly efficient layout interconnected with the existing weight room and indoor practice field. The players’ facility level including locker rooms, training and equipment rooms and all team meeting rooms are at the existing indoor practice field level with two 100-yard outdoor football fields at the same level as well. The upper floors include a coaches’ wing housing all the coaches’ and staff offices which connect to the Hall of Fame at the existing weight room level. The upper mezzanine level / Recruiting Lounge serves as a multi-purpose space for entertaining on game-days and can also be used for everyday team meals. Both the Recruiting Lounge and Hall of Fame were designed as one volume creating an iconic entry sequence for recruits and fans. This element also provides a Razorback Road presence which was an important key factor in the design process.
