Townie Burgers and Bevvies is a restaurant located directly adjacent to Oven & Tap, further enriching the local culinary scene in Downtown Bentonville. The building presents two distinct public fronts: S. Main Street to the west and a pedestrian alley to the east. With the City of Bentonville planning to transform the alley into a public park, the project was designed to become an active edge and welcoming public face for the evolving urban fabric.
The design stitches together two historic storefronts along S. Main Street, unifying them into a cohesive dining experience. A centralized commercial kitchen anchors the plan and is surrounded by dining areas, while an outward-facing bar wraps the kitchen to serve as the focal point of the interior. The existing plaster ceiling was removed to reveal the original rough-sawn timber trusses and masonry walls, celebrating the building’s historic character. The reclaimed framing from the plaster ceiling was thoughtfully reused as a decorative wall treatment, reinforcing the project’s commitment to adaptive reuse and material continuity.
