Heifer International Murphy Keller Education Center

Little Rock, AR

Phase 2 of the master plan, the Murphy Keller Education Center serves as a Welcome Pavilion & Interactive Education Center and was completed in 2009.  It contains a gallery for exhibits, a gift shop, cafe, and meeting/seminar spaces.  The extensive use of recycled materials in the building structure and placement within a constructed wetland on a reclaimed brownfield demonstrates the potential and tangible results of employing “smart” design and responsible planning to model environmental development strategies.  The Education Center also provides support for activities in the Commons, as well as the entry/exit point for visitors to the future Phase 3 Global Village educational experience.
