We’re proud to celebrate David Porter, AIA, CEO and Principal of Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects, as a 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient from the University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture + Design.
A 1982 Bachelor of Architecture graduate, David joined PSW in 1984 and has spent more than four decades shaping Arkansas through thoughtful, enduring design. His leadership spans cultural and civic work, K–12 and higher education, and corporate campuses—guiding complex projects from planning through construction with clarity, rigor, and vision.
David’s portfolio has enhanced quality of place and quality of life across Central Arkansas and beyond, serving clients including Bank OZK, Central Arkansas Library System, and Heifer International. A champion of historic buildings, his work on the Robinson Center renovation and PSW’s adaptive reuse offices in Little Rock and Fayetteville reflect his deep respect for architectural legacy and community context.
Just as impactful is David’s commitment to mentorship and inclusion—cultivating the next generation of leaders, welcoming emerging designers of color, and elevating accomplished women to partnership within the firm.
David, your leadership has shaped architecture culture across the state in lasting ways. We are honored to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.
