Private Residence

McCrory, Arkansas

Situated within an eighty-acre pecan orchard in the outskirts of a farming community in Eastern Arkansas, this 5,000 square foot private residence is a response to the historical and physical charcteristics of its site.

Forming the core of the plan, a two-story brick walled den provideds a secure, private family gathering place. The other rooms on both levels are connected to this central area either directly or by means of a circulation space.

The primary interior finish materials are brick (wall and paving) and oak (flooring and paneling). The exterior walls are sheathed in red cedar and the sloped roof areas are covered with a silver reflective metal seam. Native materials were used wherever possible.
