Bank of Cave City

Cave City, AR

Located about 15 minutes north of Batesville, the Bank of Cave City New Headquarters building sits prominently on Highway 167 North, adding a new landmark to the townís streetscape.

The form of the building is split by a glass box that becomes the large lobby space, which has a butterfly roof that allows it to be brightly and efficiently lit by natural light almost all day.

On either side of the glass lobby is the public and the private functions of the bank, clad in stone and brick. The bank also shows its commitment to its community through providing spaces at the front that can be accessed separately and used for public events.

Local materials like Oran McBride Batesville Limestone and Hackett Arkansas stone help to give the project a familiar and permanent feel, reflecting the vernacular architecture of the townís field stone buildings. In the interior, the bank vault is clad in aluminum panels that reach from the peak of the two-story lobby to the floor, signifying the security of customersí investments at the bank.

Now filled with local artwork, loyal customers and hard working employees, we hope that this building will be the vessel to successfully launch the Bank of Cave City into their next 100 years in business.
