Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts
Little Rock, AR
Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects was the associate architect working with national design firm Studio Gang on the reimagined Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. The new design embraces MacArthur Park with new public plazas, gardens, and other outdoor amenities. The original 1937 Museum of Fine Arts façade remains, creating a new north entrance. Second floor galleries, expanded art studios, an indoor/outdoor restaurant and a “cultural living room” are just a few of the new features for the 127,000 SF design concept. The transformation continues to foster the development of the collections and programs while also strengthening its connection with the community to become a gathering place for the public.
