As project lead, our firm is working alongside Cromwell Architects Engineers on the renovation and expansion to Arkansas Children’s Little Rock campus and Springdale campus. The Little Rock expansion will include a brand new entrance with three-story lobby, which will improve way-finding to newly renovated clinics and patient + family services. A waiting gallery addition connects the new lobby to the brand new outpatient facility, with outpatient clinic and surgery services. At the heart of the new expansion will be a large outdoor park with walking paths, native landscaping, play surfaces, seating and a central great lawn. This is the largest expansion in Arkansas Children’s 112-year history. PSW is designing a 72,000 SF five-story addition to Arkansas Children’s Northwest campus as well as renovating existing spaces and adding surgical space, more operating rooms, procedure rooms and clinic space. There will also be an outpatient clinic across the hospital’s parking lot. The total project across both campuses will add 150 providers — physicians, nurse, practitioners, etc. — and another 400 jobs to Arkansas Children’s system.
