A native of Augusta, Arkansas in Woodruff County, Joe is a veteran of the US Army and served on active duty in the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment for two years during the Vietnam War era.

A practicing architect for forty-two years from 1972 until 2014, Joe is now of counsel as an advisor to the firm, primarily for marketing / business development and community service outreach as a volunteer board member of the Little Rock-based 501c(3) non-profit, studioMAIN.

During Joe’s professional career he was responsible for managing the design and construction administration of more than 600 commissions of a wide variety of building types and program complexities in Arkansas, Tennessee and Oklahoma. Projects completed under his direction during his active practice totaled more than a billion in terms of dollar value and square footage area. Under his leadership, the firm has been widely recognized for design excellence, garnering more than 100 local, state, regional and national awards.

Joe has been inducted into the Arkansas Construction Hall of Fame, and presented with a Career Distinguished Service Award by the University of Arkansas Fay Jones School of Architecture.
