Ernest Banks, Assoc. AIA, is a designer and advocate committed to shaping a more inclusive and community-rooted built environment. A graduate of the Fay Jones School of Architecture + Design, he contributes to a wide range of civic and educational projects at the firm, focusing on thoughtful design, placemaking, and public impact.
Outside of practice, Ernest founded RISE (Reinvest in Students Everywhere), a nonprofit that has raised over $40,000 and supported over 70 underrepresented students pursuing careers in architecture. He is an active volunteer with studioMAIN, leading community initiatives that range from improving pedestrian safety to hosting hands-on youth design workshops.
Ernest also serves within AIA Arkansas on various committees, where he advocates for greater equity and representation in the profession. Through his work, service, and mentorship, he strives to be a role model and to expand access to design for those historically excluded from it.
