Washington County Courthouse

Fayetteville, AR

Both the interior and exterior of the building had been compromised by the inappropriate replacement of some elements and the enclosure of exterior porches to provide additional interior space.

The exterior restoration included cleaning of all exterior masonry surfaces and the re-pointing of all joints with lime putty mortar to match the original material, the consolida- tion of all ashlar stone surfaces to prevent further deterio- ration, the restoration of original wood windows and the restoration of the side porches to their original use appear- ance, the cleaning, painting, and replacement of deteriorat- ed metal at fire escapes and railings and the replacement of flat roofs, deteriorated metal cornice, downspouts and roof flashings.

In addition, we provided the same services for interior renovation which included the restoration of the circuit courtroom and addition of the balcony, the addition of ac- cessible toilets and a data room. Several interior elements were upgraded including the HVAC, plumbing and electri- cal systems, building elevator, all plaster wall services and dropped ceiling systems. A new fire alarm system, emer- gency generator and data and telephone systems have also been installed.
