The district’s charge was to redesign the school’s south street front elevation by enclosing over 200 feet of exterior hallway on both floors, providing a safer interior corridor for a smaller student. The energy-efficient, yet visually open solution implements low glazing with horizontal sunscreens that block direct southern sunlight, while allowing indirect sunlight into the corridor space.
