Arkansas State Veterans Home

PSW is the architect of record for the new Arkansas State Veterans Home at Fort Logan H. Roots military base located in North Little Rock, AR. The Veterans Home provides long-term care for aging veterans in a “home-like” environment rather than the common institutional model of a nursing facility. The 31-acre campus has eight individual homes fitted to serve 12 residents in each home. The 9,600 square-foot home features universally accessible common areas including living room, study, dining room, kitchen and den, and front and pack porches. Each bedroom has an adjoining private bathroom. Additionally, a new 12,000 SF Community Building situated in the center of the campus, offers the ideal space for large events, performances, classes and other community activities.
